Dr. Rishi Patel

Dr. Rishi Patel grew up in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, a small town just north of Nashville. He received his undergraduate degree from Oxford College and Emory University in Religion and Chemistry and his master’s degree in Bioethics with a focus on Healthcare Policy from the University of Pennsylvania. He then went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Patel completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, followed by his Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the NCCN designated O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Alabama Birmingham College of Medicine. During his training he served on the Graduate Medical Education committee and participated in the American Society of Hematology External Mentorship Program in Non-malignant/classical Hematology.

Throughout his training, Dr. Patel has authored multiple research articles, posters, and presentations, conducted investigative and QI research, mentored medical trainees, and received honors and awards. Dr. Patel is also passionate about medical education and teaching.

In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys playing tennis and pickleball with his family, making wine, and traveling. He joined Clearview Cancer Institute in July 2023 and will see patients in our Decatur-Plaza II Office.
