Clearview Cancer Institute proudly welcomed Dr. Heather Brody to the Shoals in July. Following her residency, Dr. Brody completed a fellowship in oncology and hematology at East Carolina University in Greeneville, North Carolina.
Dr. Brody is looking forward to living and working in the Shoals community! You can get to know her in the Q&A below and read more about her on our website HERE.
Q: Tell us more about you and your family.
A: I am a small-town girl, I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin on the Mississippi river so I am very used to living in a river town. It is very important to me to have the nature surrounding, it is so beautiful here! I have my husband here with me and then I have a two-year-old son. We are all enjoying the area so very much so far, all of the music and culture and the river.
Q: What are you looking forward to about living in the Shoals community?
A: I love that small community feeling. Everybody is so supportive of each other, everybody really cares about each other. Everybody is really there for each other. There’s nothing like that feeling that you can get in a small town, so that is definitely an advantage for living in Florence, Alabama, and working at a clinic like this one.
Q: What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
A: My husband and I do a lot of camping and a lot of hiking, we enjoy the river and the water. Most of all, we search out waterfalls, we take pictures of waterfalls!
